§ Mr. Peter BottomleyPreparatory work on the second Severn crossing is progressing well. Survey work necessary to develop the design of the crossing is under way and consultations with interested parties are continuing. This would enable the bridge to be completed by the mid-1990s if the build up of traffic needs it by then and Parliament so decides.
