To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if there are any plans to introduce a computerised automatic flight planning system for the United Kingdom low-flying system; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 26 April 1988]:Plans to introduce a computerised notification and deconfliction warning system in the United Kingdom low-flying system are currently under consideration.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what measures are being introduced to improve the safety of night low-level flying over the United Kingdom.

[holding answer 5 May 1988]: The deconfliction warning that would be provided by the introduction of a computerised notification and warning system, which is currently under consideration, could be expected to contribute to the safety of night low-level flying over the United Kingdom.
