To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is his current policy towards the use of Danish ports by nuclear-capable ships of the Royal Navy.

[holding answer 17 June 1988]:It remains our policy neither to confirm nor deny the presence of nuclear weapons aboard particular HM ships. The new Danish Government have confirmed that visits by ships of the Royal Navy can continue under the same procedures which obtained previously and a normal programme of visits to Danish ports by HM ships is planned.
