§ Lord Swinfenasked Her Majesty's Government:
How many popular music video recordings have been considered to be within the scope of the Video Recordings Act 1984, and if so how many have been refused a classification certificate.
The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)I understand that the British Board of Film Classification, to whom all video works within the scope of the Video Recordings Act 1984 must be submitted for classification, keeps no separate record of musical works which are submitted, but does not believe that it has refused a classification certificate to any such work.
