Mr. Michael Forsyth

The provision for N9(7) miscellaneous expenditure in the current year is £2,902,000 compared with £601,000 in 1987–88. This increase is due mainly to the inclusion of £2.199 million to provide for expenditure on centrally financed AIDS-related projects.

Mr. Galbraith

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give details of the additional printing and stationery envisaged by the projected increase in expenditure under Supply Estimates 1988–89, class XVI, vote 14, (N9.6 stationery, printing, etc.)

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The provision for N9(6) stationery, printing, and so on in the current year is £100,000 compared with £55,000 in 1987–88. This increase is to cover the estimated costs of producing and issuing to all general medical practitioners a consolidated version of the regulations governing general medical practitioners' terms and conditions of service and the revised drug tariff which will be issued to all general practitioners. Provision has also been made for the recurring costs of a large number of other health-related publications.
