To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the report by the review board on its third annual review of the profit formula for Government non-competitive contracts.

Mr. Younger

The Government accept the principal recommendation by the review board in its report that there should be no change in the existing profit formula which has been in operation since 1 July 1987—Official Report, 24 July 1987, column 602. Discussions are already taking place between officials and the CBI on other aspects of the board's report. Copies of the report have been placed in the Library.
