To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the number of(a) prosecutions and (b) convictions of bus operators in respect of offences arising from, or in connection with, operation of buses in each year since 1980.

Comprehensive in-formation is not available centrally. The following information is given in the annual report of the traffic commissioner on summonses and convictions since 1980:

of appropriate education and social facilities. Locally, governors will, where practicable, make every effort to meet reasonable requests from ethnic minority inmates for special facilities including translation.

I have recently asked Her Majesty's chief inspector of Prisons whether there are any general improvements which ought to be made to the arrangements for accommodating the small number of inmates from ethnic minorities.
