HC Deb 22 July 1988 vol 137 c859W
Mr. Livingstone

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list those whom his Department has directly or indirectly assisted, including representatives from the Fair Employment Agency, trades unions and other individuals or agencies, including Government Departments, to give evidence to legislatures in the United States of America considering adopting or who have adopted the MacBride principles; what was the overall financial cost and number of separate visits in each case; and if he will place in the Library copies of any transcripts or evidence submitted by the Fair Employment Agency or other officials in each case.

Mr. Viggers

Since June 1985 to date the overall cost of assistance to individuals to give evidence has been £86,856. I do not propose to identify the individuals concerned.
