§ Mr. AltonTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what plans he has to make available integrated school places for all the children who would like to attend such a school.
§ Dr. MawhinneyThe recent consultation document on education reform in Northern Ireland contains proposals which would offer a further avenue for the expression of parental wishes for integrated education, in the form of grant-maintained integrated schools. In addition, I recently approved grant-aided voluntary maintained status, from 1 August 1988, for Hazelwood college, Belfast, All Children's integrated primary school, Newcastle, and Bridge primary school, Banbridge; I have also approved an extension to four-form entry for Lagan college, Belfast.
