To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the composition of the senior information technology strategy committee in his Department; and how many times in the past year its meetings have been attended by Ministers.

The senior information technology committee in the Scottish Office is the standing committee on information technology services which is chaired by the deputy secretary, Central Services. Its membership comprises, in addition to a representative of the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency, the director of information technology in the Scottish Office and representatives from each Scottish Office user department. and from relevant central service interests including finance, manpower, office management, computer services, telecommunications and statistical services. The committee meets three times a year. Ministers do not attend meetings but are consulted as appropriate.
