To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what submission has been received for grant aid from the South Yorkshire fire and civil defence authority in respect of the appointment of a brigade emergency planning staff officer in the South Yorkshire county fire service; and if he will list those fire brigades that have a brigade emergency planning staff officer; and if he will make a statement.

No claim for grant aid has been received fromSouth Yorkshire fire and civil defence authority in respect of the appointment of a brigade emergency planning officer. Only three fire brigades in England and Wales have not yet made such an appointment—South Yorkshire FCDA, Derbyshire county council and South Glamorgan county council.
