To ask the Minister for the Arts when he last made an official visit to a public library.

In the course of the last year I have visited seven public libraries, the last one being the new library at St. Albans, Hertfordshire, in May.

To ask the Minister for the Arts what representations he has received about the proposed premium book subscription for public libraries.

§ Mr. Luce
[holding answer 14 July 1988:] The many responses which I have received include comments on the proposed premium book subscription scheme. The work of analysing these responses has begun.
