HC Deb 15 July 1988 vol 137 cc375-6W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many United Kingdom citizens have been refused boarding passes by foreign airlines flying from the United Kingdom to the United States of America because they were unaware of the relaxation of the United States visa requirements.

Mr. Eggar

We are not monitoring the operation of the United States visa-waiver scheme directly, but I understand it is operating smoothly. There have been no reports that eligible travellers have been refused boarding passes.
