§ Mr. Michael ForsythThere is no nationally recommended ratio of nursing staff to patients in renal units in Scotland. The ratio of nursing staff to patients receiving dialysis within the renal unit at Glasgow royal infirmary is 8.6:38. In addition, two nurses are employed to assist the 67 patients receiving continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, who attend the unit as out-patients.
