§ Mr. NewtonThe purpose of the meeting on 8 January 1988 was to discuss with the chairman and administrator how a potential overspend on the committee's cash limit for administration this year might be avoided in the light of increases to funding referred to in my reply to my hon. Friend on 22 January 1988 at column895. The Department has now received a revised assessment to the effect that the committee expects to remain within its cash limit.
