Mr. JacksonMy hon. Friend wrote to me on 18 January on this subject, and I am making inquiries. I have received only one other recent representation. Persian studies fell within the scope of the review of Asian and African languages and area studies conducted by Sir Peter Parker for the University Grants Committee, which has accepted and is now implementing his recommendations.
