To ask the Prime Minister, pursuant to her oral reply to the hon. Member for Meirionnydd Nant Conwy on the Central Electricity Generating Board's test experiment on the Trawsfynydd nuclear plant, 19 January,Official Report, column 819, whether Her Majesty's Government have informed the European Community Commission of the test under the requirement of Euratom treaty, article 34, prior to her reply of 19 January.

The test proposed at Trawsfynydd will take place only if the Health and Safety Executive's Nuclear Installations Inspectorate is totally satisfied that it will be safe. Article 34 is not therefore relevant.
