To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, with respect to the 15th report of Session 1986–87 from the Committee of Public Accounts and the Comptroller and Auditor General's memorandum on the National Museum of Wales, whether the Comptroller and Auditor

of contracts relating to other ancillary services are not held centrally. All Welsh health authorities have complied or indicated that they will comply with the requirement which my right hon. Friend placed upon them in August 1987, that they test by competitive tendering at least 75 per cent, by value of their domestic cleaning, catering and laundry services by December 1988.
General was provided with a copy of the agreement between the national museum and its former keeper of art, approved by the Welsh Office and signed on 8 April 1986.

It is for the Comptroller and Auditor General to say what documents were provided to him during the course of his examinations.

§ Mr. Faulds
To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, with regard to the staffing recommendations of his Department's staff inspectors for the department of art of the National Museum of Wales in 1983–84, what were the professional qualifications of the two full-time and one part-time conservators in post at the time of the staff inspection.

§ Mr. Wyn Roberts
The professional qualifications of staff employed by the National Museum of Wales are matters for the museum authorities.
