§ Mrs. RumboldA number of submissions from different bodies have been made to the interim advisory committee on teachers' pay and conditions. It is for the committee to consider whether to make them more widely available. I understand that the committee has decided that the principal consultees should have the opportunity to consider each other's submissions.

§ Mrs. RumboldThe interim advisory committee on school teachers' pay and conditions has been asked to submit its advice by 31 March 1988. I have no indication that the committee intends to submit an interim report in advance of that date.

§ Mrs. RumboldThe Government published a Green Paper, "Teachers' Pay and Conditions: A Consultative Document" (Cm. 238) last autumn which proposed the establishment of a teachers' negotiating group which would provide for future negotiations for teachers' pay and conditions. Comments on the proposals in the Green Paper were requested by the end of this month.
