To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services when he will introduce the regulations needed for the operation of the social fund in April.

I have laid the following before Parliament today:

  1. (i) The Social Fund (Application for Review) Regulations 1988;
  2. (ii) The Social Fund (Recovery by Deductions from Benefits) Regulations 1988;
  3. (iii) The Social Fund Maternity and Funeral Expenses (General) Amendment Regulations 1988.
