(2) how many domestic households' electricity supply was disconnected for non-payment of electricity bills in (a) the United Kingdom, (b) Wales, (c) Scotland, (d) Northern Ireland, (e) England and (f) each of the standard English regions during the last year for which figures are available; what are the corresponding figures for each year since 1979; and in each case what percentage of all domestic users these figures represent.
§ Mr. Michael SpicerThis is a matter for the electricity supply industry. I have asked the chairman of the Electricity Council to write to the hon. Member with the information requested in respect of England and Wales. Electricity disconnections in Scotland and Northern Ireland are matters for my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland respectively.
