To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many employers in(a) the public sector and (b) the private sector have gained the Manpower Services Commission's Fit for Work award in each year of the award to 1986.

The Fit for Work award is now a Department of Employment responsibility adminstered by the employment service.

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on the 1987 awards in the Manpower Services Commission's Fit for Work scheme.

The Fit for Work award scheme is not a Department of Employment responsibility administered by the employment service. The national reception for the 1987 award winners took place at Lancaster house on 9 December 1987. 100 awards have been made in 1987, and the names of the 100 winners were announced on that date.
