HC Deb 14 January 1988 vol 125 c346W
Dr. Marek

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Wrexham on 11 January, if he will give the reasons as to why the terms of the contract under which the renewable resources assessment group at Imperial college, London provides scientific advice to the Falkland Islands Government are commercially confidential; and at whose suggestion they were made confidential.

Mr. Eggar

The terms of the contract have been negotiated between the Falkland Islands Government and the renewable resources assessment group and are subject to the approval of the Islands' Executive Council. It is normal commercial practice for details of contracts to remain confidential to the parties concerned.
