§ Mr. Teddy TaylorTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he has yet received from the European Court of Justice its decision on the case initiated by the EEC Commission arguing that the United Kingdom should levy value added tax on industrial and commercial buildings and on the supply of gas, electricity, water, sewerage and protective clothing and footwear to industry and commerce; and if he will make a statement;
(2) when he expects to receive the decision of the European Court of Justice on the case raised by the Commission under the sixth directive relating to value added tax on gas, electricity, water, sewage and protective clothing supplied to industry and commerce and the building of shops, offices and factories; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. LilleyThe European Court of Justice has not yet delivered its judgment; it is expected to do so in the early months of this year.
§ Mr. Teddy TaylorTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he expects to receive the decision of the European Court of Justice on the case raised by the Commission on the levying of value added tax on spectacles; and if he will make a statement.
