HC Deb 12 January 1988 vol 125 c256W
Mr. Gale

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to receive the report of the social services inspector into allegations of further neglect and poor supervision at the Worth house children's home, Herne Bay; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Currie

I have now received from the social services inspectorate a report on Worth House private children's home, Herne Bay. The inspection found that standards of care at Worth House were more than adequate. The Department will continue to discuss with the London boroughs' children's regional planning committee the wider issue of the placement of children in accommodation which is, as far as practicable, near to their home area.
