HC Deb 12 January 1988 vol 125 c243W
52. Mr. Cash

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what estimates his Department has prepared of the amounts which health authorities could raise over the next few years as a result of income generation schemes.

Mr. Newton

Until health authorities have fully evaluated the possibilities for generating income and have drawn up plans, it is difficult to forecast with any precision what amounts they will raise. However, we believe that health authorities should be capable of generating net additional income of £10 million to £20 million in 1988–89, £40 million to £50 million in 1989–90, and £60 million to £70 million in 1990–91.
