To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what level of development has been approved for Manchester International airport in each of the last eight years.

Approvals have been given which have allowed capital expenditure by Manchester airport totalling £89.9 million over the eight years ending in 1986–87. A table showing the annual figures is being printed in theOfficial Report.

Approvals have been given which have allowed the following levels of capital expenditure by Manchester International airport:
