HC Deb 29 February 1988 vol 128 c417W
Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Lord President of the Council what steps he takes to satisfy himself that no veal sold in House of Commons restaurants has come from calves killed by methods of ritual slaughter.

Mr. Wakeham

I am satisfied that the General Manager of the Refreshment Department, who has responsibility for purchasing veal for the restaurants in the House, has been given the necessary assurances by his suppliers to this effect.
