To ask the Secretary of State for Energy, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Meirionnydd Nant Conwy (Dr. Thomas),Official Report, 11 February, columns 346–47, on European Economic Community environmental impact assessment regulations, which of the projects (c), (e), (f), (g) in the original question are to be subject to applications for planning consent on or before 2 July under current Departmental plans.

An application for outline planning consent for the European demonstration reprocessing plant at Dounreay (project C), which is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland, was submitted on 30 May 1985. The CEGB sought my consent to construct the proposed coal-fired power station at Fawley (project E) on 3 February this year. I am advised that those concerned have no plans to submit planning applications for projects F or G before 2 July 1988.
