(2) what formal agreements there are between United States of America and the United Kingdom concerning the physical protection of reprocessed plutonium being transported from Sellafield to Japan in the 1990s.
§ Mr. Michael Spicer[holding answer 22 February 1988]: All exports of nuclear materials are made within the guidelines set out in the statement by the then Foreign Secretary, James Callaghan, on 31 March 1976 at columns 514–516. This includes the requirement for adequate physical protection.
Detailed arrangements for these shipments will be agreed nearer the time.
