§ Mr. Tony BanksTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what additional resources will be made available to the London borough of Lewisham in the event of the Horniman museum being transferred to the borough;
(2) if he intends to bring forward proposals to safeguard the Londonwide status of the Horniman museum;
(3) what information he has on the average number of visitors to the Horniman museum over the last two years and the number of Inner London education authority schoolchildren who made visits during the same period and the division from which they came.
§ Mr. DunnMy hon. Friend the Member for Mitcham and Morden (Mrs. Rumbold) made it clear in the debate on the Inner London education authority on 17 February at column 1069 that the Government will be considering the arrangements that are most appropriate for securing the future of the Horniman museum. We will wish to consider all the possibilities. Information about visitors to the museum is published by the Inner London education authority in its annual report.
