To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give details of the projects for which the decommitted European regional development fund grants, referred to in his Department's press notice of 23 February, had been intended; and if he will make a statement about the future of the projects.

Since 1975, at total of £18.1 million of European regional development fund grant has been decommitted, involving some 188 projects. These projects have either been partially decommitted because they have not reached the maximum eligible expenditure level estimated at the time of application or they have been wholly decommitted because they have not proceeded as originally envisaged by the applicant.

The detailed information requested about these projects could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
