HC Deb 26 February 1988 vol 128 cc340-1W
Mr. Hoyle

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment who are the landlords and freeholders of Lambeth bridge house, Great Westminster house and Horseferry house; and whether the owners have recently expressed any concern about the state of repair of these buildings.

Mr. Chope

The landlords and freeholders of Lambeth bridge house, Great Westminster house and Horseferry house are, respectively, Adamant Investment Corporation Ltd., Legal and General Assurance Society Ltd. and Pearl Assurance Ltd.

I can confirm that discussions have been held between PSA and the landlords of Lambeth bridge house and Horseferry house on the extent of necessary repairs and maintenance. Work on both buildings will commence in the next financial year. Repairs to Great Westminster house are the responsibility of the landlord. I am advised that the landlord does not propose to effect any repairs and intends instead to demolish and redevelop the building. Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food staff are due to leave the building by September this year, on lease expiry.
