§ Mrs. RumboldTile £10 million for secondary school library provision was identified within the expenditure plans for 1988–89 in response to representations from local authorities that there was a particular need in this area. It will now be for local authorities themselves to decide individually on the priority which they wish to give to secondary school library provision from within the resources available to them.
