To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the current status of research on decommissioning of nuclear installations under European Council decision 84/60 Euratom of 31 January 1984, specified in terms of section A, projects one to seven, section B and section C.

[holding answer 19 February 1988]: I have placed a copy of the latest available progress report published by the European Commission "The Community's research and development programme on decommissioning of nuclear installations", report EUR 11112 EN, in the Library of the House. This covers the period up to the end of 1986. When the 1987 version is available I will place that in the Library also.
