HC Deb 19 February 1988 vol 127 cc774-5W
Mr. Ron Davies

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the Government's policy with regard to coniferous afforestation in areas of outstanding national beauty.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The Government's policy is that applications for grant aid towards planting conifers in such areas should each be considered on their merits with any views expressed under the Forestry Commission's consultation arrangements being taken into account.
