To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if, pursuant to his answer of 9 February,Official Report, column 149, he will list in precise detail the views and proposals of the Government of the Irish Republic put forward by them at the meeting of the Anglo-Irish Inter-Government Council both in November 1985 and since that date; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. and learned Friend cannot give details of specific proposals put forward in private by the Irish Government. Nonetheless, a detailed communiqué was issued after the meeting of the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Council at Hillsborough in November 1985, and joint statements have been issued after each meeting of the Intergovernmental Conference held since.
