HC Deb 16 February 1988 vol 127 c584W
Mr. Hannam

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will give details of the extent of United Kingdom involvement in the programme established by the EEC on community action to promote the educational integration of disabled children and young people.

Mr. Dunn

Within the first four-year programme United Kingdom representatives have participated in study visits to schools and to education departments of local and central Government in many member states to develop knowledge and share expertise about the education of handicapped pupils. Participation continues in the field of computing and new technology involving data banks and communication aids for the disabled. There is official and HMI representation at the EC working group meetings which oversee this programme.
