§ Mr. SalmondTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) if he will publish tables showing(a) the volume of University Grants Committee grants to each university in Britain for each year since 1979–80, including planned expenditure to 1990–91, at constant 1987 prices and (b) the overall value of these grants at 432W 1987 prices for each year since 1979–80, including planned expenditure to 1990–91, to (i) Scottish institutions, (ii) Welsh institutions, (iii) English institutions and (iv) British institutions as a whole; and if he will express as a percentage the change in real terms of these grants to (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) between 1979–80 and 1990–91, and 1987–88 and 1990–91;
(2) if he will publish a table showing for each year since 1979–80 to 1990–91 the value of Government grants to each university in Britain.
