To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many cases of brucellosis in human beings were recorded in Scotland in 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980 and 1985.

Brucellosis is not a notifiable disease and figures for 1960 and 1965 are not available centrally. The Communicable Diseases (Scotland) Unit has supplied the following data for the later years:
