To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many responses he has received to the Green Paper on teachers' pay and conditions; and if he will make a statement.

Thirty-seven responses to the Green Paper, "Teachers' Pay and Conditions: a Consultative Document" (Cm 238), have so far been received in the Department from organisations and two from individuals.
