§ Mr. MuddTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list all the motorway and trunk road contracts in Scotland with a works cost of £1 million or more which his Department intends to award in 1988–89 showing, in each case, the total value of the contract and the expenditure likely to be incurred in that year.
§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonConsideration of the major trunk road contracts to be awarded in 1988–89 is not yet complete. My right hon. and learned Friend's normal practice is to announce in March of each year those major schemes which he expects to start in the following year.
