To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the cost to the Exchequer of paying London weighting to those civil servants in receipt of such weighting over the last five years for which figures are available.

The estimated cost to the Exchequer of paying London weighting to civil servants in the last five financial years has been:

These figures exclude additions to ERNIC, superannuation and pensions as a consequence of London weighting.
