Mr. Tom Arnold

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has on the number of employees of each of the 10 metropolitan borough councils in Greater Manchester broken down by function, subject and area.

Mr. Chope

The tables show the results of the September 1987 survey of the joint manpower watch for the metropolitan borough councils in Greater Manchester. Information collected under section 56 of the Local Government Act 1985 for these authorities is available in the Library of the House.
