Mr. Darling

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster which regulations he proposes to exempt small firms from complying with as indicated in the White Paper "DTI—the department for Enterprise".

Mr. Atkins

It is the Government's policy to examine all areas of regulation to ensure that any compliance costs for business, including small businesses, are reduced to the minimum. As stated in "DTI — the department for Enterprise" further proposals for deregulation will be included in a White Paper to be published in the summer.
