To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he has received any requests from coastal authorities for grant aid towards the cost of repairing damage caused by gales in early January.

Bournemouth borough council has advised me of the need for emergency coast protection work following the January gales. This will be considered for grant aid in the normal way. No other coastal authority has made such an approach.
