Ms. Harman

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many(a) cases of and (b) deaths attributable to meningitis have been notified in each of the last 24 months.

I regret that the data are not available in exactly the form requested: notification data for infectious diseases are compiled on a weekly basis; the table shows totals by weekly group for 1986 and 1987.
