§ Mrs. ChalkerMy right hon. and learned Friend and I regularly discuss progress towards completing the single European market with EC Foreign Ministers. Detailed discussions on the single market are pursued in the internal market and other specialist councils. Over 100 measures towards that goal have been agreed in the past 18 months, 48 of them during the United Kingdom presidency.
