To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what provisions there will be for child care payments under the new training scheme announced on 18 November 1987.

The proposals put forward by the Manpower Services Commission are being considered, and detailed arrangements for the new programme will be announced by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State in the White Paper to be published later this month.
