§ 30. Mr. AshleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what further steps he intends to take to improve the employment prospects of disabled people.
§ Mr. LeeI have no proposals to put forward at this time. I shall be reviewing the position in the light of the Report by the National Audit Office on employment assistance to disabled adults and the report by the National Advisory Council on Employment of Disabled People which reviewed the principles underlying employment provisions.
In the meantime my Department and the Manpower Services Commission will continue to promote vigorously employment opportunities for people with disabilities, both through existing special schemes as well as the full range of employment and training programmes.
